I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and welcome you and your son or daughter to my classroom. As the homeroom teacher, I will be your contact with the school. I will be working alongside Mrs. Heidinger to help facilitate your child’s learning this year. We are here, in collaboration with you, to support your child’s learning needs in the best way possible.
Students have a designated time to meet with their homeroom teacher in the middle of the day on Mon., Tues. and Thurs. (9:40-11:00) and Wed (9:30-9:45). During this time it will be a great opportunity for students to check to make sure they have what they need for homework, ask questions about their general progress, and connect with an adult in the building. We believe in making a daily connection with students so that we can truly meet the needs of each learner and most of all give them the tools that they will need as we will soon enough be sending them off to high school.
This school year, cell phone use will be discouraged during class time. Students will be asked to keep their cell phones in their lockers unless they are specifically asked to utilize their cell phones for a project or activity. This will help eliminate distractions and allow your child to remain as focused as possible during class time.
School attendance is a critical aspect that will contribute to your child’s success in grade seven. Students will be responsible for missed activities, assignments, and tests. Please access the school and our websites for updated announcements, important dates, assignments, and homework. Our grade 7 websites may be found on the Wilson website under teacher pages. Please click on our names to access our websites.
I would like to invite all parents to the “Meet the Teacher Night” on Thursday September 6th at 6:30pm-8:00pm. I look forward to meeting you! I would also encourage all parents to sign up for Powerschool as a means to stay up to date with their child’s assignments, grades, and attendance. If you haven’t already signed up in years past, more information will be available at meet the teacher night.
